They claim to have problems with their credit cards machine but when we said they have card emblems on their gates they accepted us to pay with cards there was no problem with visa or Mastercard

Klasszikus magyaros ételek, teljesen átlagos minőségben és kiszolgálással párosítva. Az erős ételszag kiábrándító.

Found in the centre of downtown Pécs, sits a charming little restaurant known for its good food, friendly atmosphere and fascinating setting.

Not an imposing entrance for somewhere which could be unique and interesting.
Welcome was ok but not particularly warm. Good choices on menu with some interesting variations.
Service was friendly enough and the food was nice but not special.
The atmosphere was frankly lacking although clearly there is massive potential with its location as an old underground cellar.
Nothing bad to report just nothing special. Would not dissuade anyone from going but I will not rush back.

Traditional hungarian food. Nice location underground. The food was good but not special. The service was friendly and helpful. They spoke beside Hungarian also German and English.

In summer there's a sort of beer garden outside, with umbrellas etc, which is an excellent place to go for a drink if you don't feel like sitting in the square. Hidden away off the street, good cold beer, not expensive, an understanding waiter...

If you are in Pécs, you have to visit this restaurant at least once. Located in a cellar, Cellarium has a unique underground atmosphere. It is ideal for business meetings, anniversaries or for corporate outing. It has several separate "rooms" (cellars) which give you the feeling that you are having a private lunch. The food is outstanding: I would recommend to pick the duck legs or the venison - both are incredibly delicious. The only con (if it is a con at all) is the lack of variety: there are only about 7-8 different main dishes.

We were there at a Bank Holiday weekend so it wasn't open until the Tuesday. Good food at reasonable prices.

I also can highly recommend the Cellarium as the best restaurant I visited in Pécs. We tried three different dishes and all were very delicious and special. In general you can say that most of the main dishes are about 2200Ft and also the atmosphere in the celler is very nice. A good place to take visitors!

Firstly we would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Pecs. It is a fantastic beautiful and atmospheric setting. We visited though at a quiet time - 3 o'clock in the afternoon - and there was only our small party and one other couple so to some extent one had to imagine what the atmosphere would be like at busier times. The menu had an excellent selection of Hungarian dishes and we each had something different including starters - myself the "wild Ragout" with venison and other game in a tasty sauce. Service was excellent and food and wine too, My only complaint is that for me there was too much salt but then I have had an aversion to the stuff since I was four years old and it's very difficult to avoid. A leisurely and enjoyable meal which, with drinks came to about £15 per head.

The Cellarium is located in the city-center just a few minutes uphill from the mainsquare (Szécsény ter). From outside it's a bit easy to overlook because there is only a sign and a door leading you downstairs to the big cellar (probably used for whine-making).
There is lots of space and you can easily go there with big groups. The atosphere is really nice and matches the food pretty well. Of course you don't have a good view out of the windows since there are none.
In my humble knowledge of whine I think the choice is quite good. Mostly lokal whines from Villány and Szekszard but the selection is rather exquisite.
Good starters and soups. I'd recomend the cold apricot-soupdish, or a warm soup or the Cesar-salad.
The selection of maincourses is also very broad from fish to dear, from local dishes to middle European couisine. What I've ordered there was always neatly served, cooked and eaten by me.
The service can vary depending on the day/time you go there but it was never bad in my opinion. They usually speak Enlgish or German aswell as Hungarian. And the dishes are served fast and hot (exept for my espresso once but I guess the cup was just not warmed up befor).
So after all a very good restaurant with good food and almost no waiting time since it's usually not very full. I can recomend it without a doubt.
Jó étvágyat!

This place was difficult to find, no lights out front. (It is directly across from Hotel Arkadia, you walk through the gate then down the stairs on your left.)
We were the Only ones there but decided to give it a go, so many restaurants are on the quiet side.
The menu is a meat lovers delight. Full of variety from cock stew (house specialty..) to duck livers. I've taken a few snaps of the menu. We ordered a chicken and beef dish, mixed salad and beef clear soup. All was nice. There is a large wine menu to match with your meals.
Service from the young waiter was ok, but slow. The atmOsphere was really bad tonight. Obviously it was quiet being the only ones there (and it's a huge venue!) but there was no music which made it worse. I had to push the chair out with a squeak on the floor so the waiter would come out so we could ask for the bill.
I wouldn't rush back but it was certainly ok food for a reasonable price (1 entree, 2 mains,3 drinks) = 6000ft. Cheap and very filling.

Service was ok, and the wines were tasty. The food was average, you can miss the sweeties

This is an excellent choice if you want a large choice of wines. The food is very good where you eat under the vaults. The portions are maybe too large in my view.

We enjoyed our dinner, with large portions and good service. Cellarium is large enough to have multiple dining areas so that large groups can be apart from the other patrons.
