Walking down the block between St Stephen's and the Ferris Wheel, we were looking for a quick meal and were lured in by the sign offering a "Tourist Menu" for only 9.5 Euros. We went for the deal, but the food was really good! Goulash soup, Paprika Chicken with Spaetzle, a Chocolate Crepe, and a little extra for a home-made lemonade that was tart & tasty. The owner was attentive and the service was quick. We left full and happy!

My wife and I had lunch here. We shared a caesar salad with chicken and a steak sandwich with fries. I had a diet pepsi and she had a glass of wine and a bottle of water. On a beautiful day we sat outside. The street is very quiet. Service was excellent. Not expensive (about $20 for lunch).

While visiting St. Stephen's Basilica, my wife and I wanted to find a spot for dinner so tried Krtek. The tourist menu was superb value - Goulash soup, Chicken Paprika, Chocolate Pancakes - 3 courses for about £12 each, The service was friendly and the food was delicious. They also had some interesting local beer on draught - I recommend the Litovel Gustav red beer.

Came upon this restaurant purely by chance when we were looking for somewhere to have an evening meal
They had an offer for 3400 huf of a 3 course meal (just over £10 exchange rate 333=£1 pound
The meal comprised of goulash soup, paprika chicken and a chocolate crepe
The whole meal was very nicely presented and very tasty

We had a chicken with vegetables and breaded pork dish for our lunch. It was lovely and very well priced. Service was excellent as well. There was no service change which made a difference! Highly recommended!

It was our second night in Budapest and we were looking for a typical restaurant. We found Krtek in a very central position and low prices appealed us.
The waiter was extremely kind and friendly with us, suggesting dishes and helping with things that we weren't able to understand, he worked with a large smile and we were very pleased about this.
We ordered two touristic menues and two main dishes, really excellent draft local beer and we were satisfied of all. The courses were very tasty and big.
The bill was cheaper than other bistrot and in range with the huge amount of food eaten.
We felt comfortable and we greated the waiter hoping to see him and eat there again.
I strongly suggest this bistrot for those who don't fear Hungarian spicy food and would like to eat typical dishes.

We stopped by by accident and never regretted. The goulash soup was delicious, I could probably eat two! My friend had pork with potatoes and loved it, I tried paprika chicken with noodles, also very tasty though not salty or spicy but I liked it this way.
Our waiter was also very nice and caring!

Not as fancy as the group of fine dining restaurants on this street, but prices here are much lower and still very tasty food!

Called here for a light bite following a long walk.
Had a homemade watermelon drink which was very refreshing and what was pretty much macaroni cheese which was very tasty and filling.
The hostess and waitress were friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant was quiet whilst I was there, it caters for approx 24 on the main floor with a further balcony area catering for another 14 or so upstairs. There is also a small seating area outside on the street.
I can't say how it is on an evening but appears to be a lovely little restaurant.
