I had so much trouble deciding on which cake to order for dessert that I had to make movies of them to continue my enjoyment of the the place. Just loved coffee and cake here so much so, we went back a second time. Found this café as we were walking along Andrassy. There is a massive selection of the most delicious cakes. You just have to try them. Yes, the service is OK and maybe a little slow on one occasion but we were in no hurry. The interior of the café is gorgeous. Even if you have coffee outside, have a walk inside – as someone else has said it is a glimpse into a bygone era.

OK, firstly this place is stunning, it really does take you back to a bygone age. The food is ok, maybe a little pricey depending what you have but it is good food and some dishes are huge. Service is not great. Takes a while to even get someone to pay attention and take an order and don't even think about questioning them on anything !! This place could be excellent with a little care and a smile !!

My husband and I came here specifically for desserts one afternoon. The cafe wasn't busy and we had our pick of outdoor or indoor seating. So many great dessert choices and so difficult to pick what we wanted. We finally settled on the dobos torte and one other cake which i don't remember what it's called - they were delicious! Worth checking out.

Nice restaurant to sit on the street side and people watch the busy city go by. We looked for somewhere to grab breakfast on our first morning in Budapest and found this cafe. Was a nice day so nice to sit out and enjoy the views. The food was good the service was nice(if a bit slow at times but we found this for much of our trip to Budapest) Would visit again when in the city for a breakfast stop

We visited many cafes during our 5-day-visit in Budapest and this one was certainly the best one. Recommended for breakfast, light lunch as well as for afternoon cafe and cakes. The food, mainly the cakes are imply wonderful. The excellent service is another advantage of this most recommended place.

I had been to Budapest before and never found their desserts to be interesting, but rather on the mediocre side.. How wrong I was after finding Cafe Muvesz and experiencing the Golden Dumplings cake!!. Sound weirds but its a fantastic and absolutely creamy and delicious dessert cake.! Needless to say we visited EVERY day !! Highly recommended and the nice pleasant location on Andrassy and nice polite staff make for a wonderful experience in Budapest this past summer ! One of the best holidays with my 2 children !

This place is wonderful-- old world charm, excellent deserts and coffee, decent sandwiches, and some English speaking waiters. It is right next to the opera house-- don't confuse it with the other, garish-modern Muvesz, which is also on Andrassy not too far from the real one (owned by the same family, apparently).

Good location v near Oktagon, with friendly service. A nice selection of cakes and drinks, and somewhere which does a nice hot chocolate – thick in texture and hot in temperature for a change. There’s also a good breakfast menu. Free wi-fi and table service.
