Budapest egyik leghangulatosabb helye.

The interiour of this resraurant was attractive but that’s all. The food was awful. The manager was rude with the staff. The wine was aso bad.

We stopped at Potkulz for a beer at the end of the night on both. Thursday and Friday. The first night we just made last call. The service was not overly friendly but it was ok and they tolerated our English though it is more of a locals place. The vibe was cool. It was too bad we did not get to see any local musicians either time as it was late. There was a DJ playing a mix of styles on the Friday night that could have been a lot worse as we are not really DJ fans. We sat outside on the steps on Friday night as all the tables were full. It was mostly a young crowd but a decent mix that included several people with dogs. This is probably the kind of place we would hang out if we lived here.

With all the growth in tourism, and especially the party-tourism, most of the good old originals bars, pubs and ruin bars had transformed in the last 5 -10 years in places filled with loud, drunk, disgusting foreigners. I just came back to this place with friends and fount it almost completely unchanged since the last 15 years when it opened amongst the the first ruin bars.
Keep on continuing like this!

This place shows its best face if you visit it during summer or spring when you can have a cold beer in the awesome hidden garden.

Was there in the middle of the week, not too crowded, mostly two or three large groups of Hungarians. There was a live medieval music band training or repeating. Met a couple of tourists who also like "off the beaten path" places. Cheap alcohol compared to touristy places, didn't eat there.

This was a lunch on a coach tour and was Ok just for that.
We ordered Hungarian Goulash soup (on later checking), and not the goulash stew we were expecting. I know our fault.
Nonetheless, it was good – slightly spicy and served with bread.
Slow service – to be fair, apparently half the staff were off with the flu’. That said I note several other reviews pan the service.
Would we go back: NO

The food was awesome however the service was really bad. The staff was unorganized and random, they even forgot our drinks.

The live music was the best part of our evening here.
The wine was awful , it tasted watered down. I expected some more cocktails from previous reviews but I didn't see much of a list. The service is what you'd expect in a bar. Nothing super but it's there.
It's got a cool atmosphere if a little run down and sketchy looking.
If you are looking for a relaxed layed back evening this place is good. Not really a lot of young people. It's got an older audience of people (30+)
Prices aren't bad though. It won't break your bank but we didn't eat any food.

The live music here was on point. The entrance is a little hidden, but worth exploring. Great place to grab a beer on a weeknight, catch some music and hang out on the terrace. We made sure to add this to our 'To Do' list before visiting Hungary and I'm glad we did!

If you find Potkulcs you will love it. Look for a gate in the street, which goes into a garden, there is no sign. It is very laid back and the beer was the best we had in Budapest. We went there twice and on the second visit there was a live band.

I was here many many times with my Love and my friends. This is one of the best pub in Budapest! The bartenders are always kind and helpful. I like this place also in spring and summer, because it has got a big teracce. There are always live music, too. You can always meet here with foreign people. I recommend this pub with everybody!

By chance this was the first Ruin Bar we visited in Budapest, so took us a bit by surprise!
Mainly an older, locals place. Lots of line dancing and so forth. Interesting experience but not what I expected!
