In moments you'll be transported to Bali, Ceylon or Japan. This place has been here almost two decades and has carved out a reputation as a haven for those seeking a traditional tea experience.
Awesome selection, friendly staff, definitely recommended. Foods are nothing special but you should be here for the tea anyway.

Although 1000 tea is situated in the heart of downtown Budapest, it's as chilled as it gets. Pies, all sorts of teas, and puffy bean bag chairs characterize this homely tea room.
Always go here when visiting Budapest. Good selection nice people calm atmosphere. Definitely recommend. Try a few teas in good company and take with you some more of the leaves you liked

Tea the way it's supposed to be. Honestly this was the best tea I've ever tasted. The service was great, they explained how to serve the tea properly. The cake was good as well.

This gorgeous little respite was recommended from a travel book. it took a little bit of finding down a laneway off the main street in Budapest. Once inside it was so tranquil and was a great place to just sit and relax with a pot of tea. The 'menu' of teas from around the world was fantastic. Take a book or just simply take time for yourself. Highly recommend this corner of paradise.

Budapest like any big city can be stressful. After a while travelling we were pretty exhausted when we decided to give this little place a try, it's not easy to find ( just look for the red teapot sign outside and follow the path into the courtyard with the trees and tables ) once inside we found a beautiful tea shop with a very calming vibe and meditation music in the background, we were given menus and a little be to ring once we were ready to order from the nice man inside. Our teas came in beautiful pots and bowls and we sat outside in the garden area under a tree to enjoy them. We felt super chilled afterwards, this was more of an experience rather than just a drink and I can't recommend it enough

This place was serene and calm and had such an incredible aura about it. After a day of walking around busy markets and being pushed by tourists this place made me feel calm and collected and had the most amazing tea selection, music and decor. It was literally like being in a meditative state. The servers are lovely and the prices are agreeable, it’s absolutely wonderful.
I am in two minds of giving this place a review as it deserves 5* but I’d hate for it to become well known by loud tourists!
So take my word that this place is amazing but don’t ruin it by going!;)
Ps. Best chai we’ve ever tasted!

Like entering into an enchanted world, or going back to a visit in India. This is a real special place. We only had a cup of Masala Chai but it was for amazing. Even though it was with soy milk, it reminded me if the chai I had in India. So amazing. The waiter was do great. Was patient and gave great explanations. All in all, it's a great place for a unique experience and a great hideaway from all the many tourists on Vaci Utca...

Essentially you get what it says on the tin! Tea and lots of choice! A great place just to stop, relax and get rejuvenated after a long walk around the city. It isn’t easy to find but just off Váci Utca and worth looking out for. It was quite busy when we went but still quiet and tranquil....just what was needed!

I really wanted to write about this amazing tea room I found in Budapest - 1000 TEA.
Excellent experience - such a wide tea variety, cute location, great service, cozy atmosphere!

A charming little cafe with a great range of teas. It took me back to Nepal, I could have been in a cafe in Kathmandu.

It fascinates me when I walked into this tea shop/cafe, when I saw tea leaves originated from China, Japan and India etc and when I saw locals coming in enjoying or buying tea leaves! It shows us how the Hungarians love their tea and enjoy tea culture around the world. The teacups are quite traditional, atmosphere is full of cultural features such as the decorations on the wall, the tea menu and the chairs. You can sit outside to enjoy to open air. Or inside to experience the sitting (on mats/ pillows quite similar to Japan tea culture for instance). One recommendation is: try to change the music, Asian classic for instance. Of course, this place s for you to relax, mediate or read a book. So if you are in hurry, then choose a different time . Some may feel that the tea taste the same then my advice is go to Japan tradition teahouse and enjoy!x

From Vaci Utca, find a 1000 tea shop sign - there is only a small door to an alley leading to the actual shop entrance.
The tea house is very lovely, cozy, quiet and relaxing. Especially if you can get a table indoor on elevated flooring with carpets and low tables/stools.
Service was good, polite, attentive but not intrusive.
Great tea selection from many countries, mostly served only warm except for some iced tea options printed in separate menu sheet.
Recommended!

Hidden from everyday busttle, this little teashop offers amazing tea collection. Staff is full of information about tea and preparation process and willing to help. Ambient is very intimate, with little tables, where you can sit on the carpet and relax for a moment or two. Also have small terrace outside. I had a feeling that time stoped.
Definately will return in this little teashop.

Very varied tea menu: from fermented black Chinese to divine Japanese green tea. From matcha to rooibos to matte. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing and informal with professional service. We bought some exquisite green jasmine tea to take home. If I had more time,I would visit every day and taste the whole menu☺

We found this place by coincidence after going to the central Market. A really nice place like out of the buzzy world around. An impressive range of teas, prices reasonable, staff very friendly.
