We had some wonderful dishes. A really Indonesian taste of real South east asian cooking. We would honestly recommend. It is a must try, the food was excellent and plentyful. The atmosphere was so friendly and the chef is a wonderful guy, easy to talk to, and he made us so welcome. The waiter was a pleasant, too. It is a must in Budapest.

We had a fantastic time here at Asli! First time trying Indonesian food, so we ordered a bunch of different dishes to share, as you do it in Indonesia, and it was a unique ride for our tastebuds from beginning to the end. I love it when you can feel the original authentic taste of the food and it’s not changed to cater to Western crowd. Especially loved the Gulai Kambing soup (hot!) Rendang, Cendol which is a lovely sweet drink and Dadar Gulung for dessert😋 Everyone was so nice and service was on point☺️

The closest I've ever been to Indonesia was Malaysia but I've tried their dishes here and there. I can say this restaurant offers one of the best overall Indonesian experience I've had outside of South Eastern Asia. The dishes are delicious, the portions are plentiful. the selection pretty much covers the whole country from from Sumatra to Bali.

I went to Asli with a sizable group. We all liked the experience quite a bit, and would recommend the restaurant to travelers. The food has a home-cooked feel to it, and the service is very helpful and warm. The proprietors are an Indonesian married couple living in Budapest. The menu lists a great variety of dishes from Indonesian cuisine, and they now serve beer as well as Indonesian beverages. It’s a bit hard to find: at Kolosy tér, go into the entrance marked “World Market”, and the restaurant is in the courtyard, to the right at the back.
