It's a hidden gem, mostly locals come here for a sip of coffee or drink. It is open air so avoid in bad weather.

We found the place by chance while wondering from Buda Castle. It's located in a very interesting building, and has table outside but covered by the building, which is great in a hot summer day. The coffee is good, they make fresh orange juice and have some interesting biscuits and cakes - all in all, a nice breakfast in an pleasant place.

Visited Bereg for dinner, it was busy but we were accommodated quickly by a lovely waitress, We order goulash and a burger (which I asked for well done). My burger came out very pink so I asked for it to be cooked further in which the waitress was very accommodating and polite. The goulash was fabulous! My burger can back from the kitchen, and although it had been cooked more, it was still pink, I ate it but would have preferred the meat browned through, in saying that it was nice, (would have scored higher review if cooked through, but I know some chefs don’t like to over cook meat!

A little cafe behind Swan house, built by a very famous hungarian architect. Friendly atmosphere, nice daily menu is waiting for the visitors. Lovely hungarian wines, and a little escape from the daily routine. Located under the amazing Buda Castle, only 5 minutes of walk to get there where you can experiance the amazing view to the blue Danube and the whole city of Budapest.

Totally by accident, I tumbled across this place. They have great variation of tasty apparently local microbreweries. The staff was however just having coffee and smoking at the backyard, so the service wasn’t that fast.

We go here every time we are in Budapest and we are always very satisfied. The food is great, the beer is great and the service is simply awesome - they are very nice and very helpful. Also, they have a cat here named Safranek, Who is simply an awesome little ball of fur. :)

We had walked in the old town and were a bit hungry and thirsty. This small and cosy bar was just perfect for us! We had drinks and small portions of Hungarian soup (I would love to have the recipe!) and everyone were happy to move on. Go and have a drink or lunch!

Just south of the Castle, this lovely bar is in the fantastic Swan Building. It's part of a small complex containing offices, apartments and a yoga studio. You can sit outside to enjoy a range of Hungarian craft beers. The one drawback is that it closes at 4pm. A pity but not if you live there, I suppose. Worth checking out as it is not a tourist trap and is a little off the beaten track without being too far from it.
