The sacher is the best we had in Budapest. Scnitzel and the potato salad are delicious. Nice atmosphere, good for sitting outside watching the opera building..plus the waitors are cute.

Grab a table outside for some good people watching or (politely) eavesdrop on the middle-aged couples enjoying their bottle of rosé. The desserts and coffee are lovely.

The most beautiful restaurant atmosphere i have seen. Was expecting much better goulash though, but the goose liver patê with pear sauce was excellent. It is that kind of place you wanna come back to.
Amazing place with the opportunity to sit outside on the terrace in the heart of Budapest with a great view next to the Opera House. Tasty coffees and cakes.

The terrace is ideal for people watching. The coffee is good as are the Hungarian cakes. The dobos torte and sacher torte are must tries. Prices are reasonable.

We had still time to join the OPERATOUR at 14.00 , the. We just popped up here in Callas Cafe with very beautiful decoration but nothing to expect from the service, but ambience wise is very interesting.
We ordered cappuccinos and opera tart both is no special as I expected but is OK.
The other things we noticed that this must be very old establishment and good for hang around and next to the Opera Haus.
You may visit this cafe if you are around this place.

Tonight we had dinner at Callas and it was great. I had weinerschnitzel and my cousin had duck and we were both extremely satisfied. And the tomato soup was outstanding. I seen some comments criticize the service but that was not our experience. The service was fine and the ambiance is great. And we found the prices to be extremely reasonable.

Had lunch here to rest prior to Maybe taking Opera tour. Food was okay as was the service. Salmon carpaccio lacked flavor and totally unimpressed with presentation. Pasta dishes okay. Waiter seemed put out with having to serve us.

We stopped late on the evening of arrival in Budapest. Beer was fine but we ordered a cheese board as a snack, the board was massive but the cheese on it would not have fed a mouse. All nice but no more.

Coffee and cake stop on our last morning, wish we had found it earlier. Lovely place and the service was excellent.

This restaurant's prominence and location next to the Opera make it a magnet for tourists. It looks particularly inviting on any nice day with its appealing outdoor settings. You can have a coffee, a beer or a more substantial meal.
The food offer is average or unexceptional though, with prices on the high side, consistent with the restaurant's position as a tourist spot.
Service was very efficient, although provided by near surly waiters, with one exception.
This is a really well-located venue, but as you don't eat location, you can do better locally in terms of food and pricing.

The Callas was right around the corner from our hotel, which was why we went the first time. We went back because it was so good.
The restaurant has an outdoor cafe that is very well used, however, the inside is beautiful with live music in the evenings. We chose to sit inside once and outside the second time. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and good value for the quality and ambiance. While all of the dishes we had were excellent, a mix of traditional and newer styles of cooking- a friend who was avoiding meat had several very good vegetarian options which were hard to come by in most restaurants.
I can highly recommend.

Being late in the day and close to our hotel, we decided to give this restaurant a try for dinner. Cheeky wait staff, once they realised we didn't just want to sit for no reason, seated us at a lovely table on the sidewalk and proceeded to spoil us with excellent food and attentive service. It is a little more pricey than cafes two streets away but it is also more upmarket with food & service to match. We were at the end of our stay by the time we tried this restaurant or we would have gone back again.
