They have a very simple menu, meaty goulash soup, a soup of the day and various hearty stews- wild boar, deer, mouflon amongst them. Comes with very good bread-sourdough? And bottles of beer at reasonable prices. Guy serving is patient and speaks good English. There are only four tables so you might have to hang outside for a few minutes. I decided it would be oppressive to wait inside. However it's not a place to linger so space soon becomes available

They only have limited seats (4 tables). The daily changing stews and soups are explained and shown to you by the friendly staff. Every order comes with delicious home made bread. Stews and soup are super delicious and very affordable. They can also be ordered for takeaway. Absolute recommendation!

This is not a restaurant. It has for tables . It is good if you want to try a few hungarian dishes and then walk off. The guy who was serving was really really Nice and helpful

Very good and cheap. If you’re looking for a quick (but tasty) lunch, don’t hesitate ! There are only four tables though.

My husband and I visited here for lunch and we were not disappointed. The staff member was friendly and helpful. I had the mushroom stew and my husband chose 3 mini plates of the different stews. It was really tasty and good value for money. All the locals frequent this cafe which I always take as a good sign.

First time in Budapest, I really enjoyed this gorgeous lunch . We ordered goulash soup and a beef stew. Very tasty food. I highly recomend to anyone (local or visitor)

This place is very small (only 4 tables). So if you have a large party, it might not work out. We went as a couple and got big bowls of stew, one beef and one goat. Both came with a massive piece of delicious bread and everything was fantastic! Staff was very, very helpful and it was also very good value for money. Would definitely recommend if you love meat!

We found this place by chance and it was such a pleasant discover! The soups are delicious, the service is fast and the guy at the desk was so kind! We really enjoyed our dinner, a must go!

On our first day in Budapest our personal Hungarian guide took us here to taste a range of delicious Hungarian stews. We returned today for chunks of wild boar slow cooked in a delicious gravy, accompanied by a doorstep slice of sour dough and portion of pickles. A meal for two with beers and coffee cost less than £14. Only four tables so maybe I should not be posting this and keeping this gem of a place to myself!

I had the goulash and a coffee. Other half had beef soup. Both really good and excellent value. Also served in paper not plastic so saving the environment! Serving lady with red hair really friendly :) Also the bread is a really really nice sour dough omnomnom!! 🍞

Perfect little hole in the wall place that served goulash and stews! Our local tour guide recommended it, and she was right on. We all ordered sampler platters, that came with a giant slice of fresh bread to dunk.

I had a very tasty mushroom stew with a slice of bread and some hungarian white wine. I am very surprised with how good local food and wine is and this was a great example. Happy to recommend and hope to return.
