Hotel is super cozy old fashion but modern! Great place to stay. Bistro offers amazing food - great creativity in very typical dishes (Hungarian and international). Quality food in Buda!

Cozy place, very clean, but very small choice of dishes for lunch time

I had the rosé duck and my wife had the black spaghetti. We shared the grilled brie starter. Everything very well-prepared and well-presented. Pretty place settings.

Small restaurant inside the boutique hotel of the same name. I had a wonderful Spanish Iberico Secreto with spring potatoes and my first Unicum Riserva - Fantastic. Attentive friendly service.

Great dinner suggestion by Hilton in Buda side. Short walk from hotel and waiter was very helpful. Had a nice craft beer and a dark I never heard of, but both Hungarian. Dinner was great and waiter suggested local wine for wife. I would go back.

This was my first trip to Budapest. My flights were delayed so I arrived at 1am. Despite the late hour, the staff person at reception was welcoming and kind. He carried my luggage upstairs. The room was exceptionally comfortable with great design. I got a lot of needed rest with no noise to interfere. The dinner I had at their bistro was delicious . I ordered vegetarian and the dishes were very delicious including the cold watermelon soup. The morning breakfast, which was included in my reservation, was wonderful . They even cooked me a hot dish, in addition to the incredible buffet spread that was offered. I will definitely stay again if I return to budapest.

We ate here twice during our stay in Budapest. The restaurant is nice, quiet and a bit romantic. Our second visit was for our 25th anniversary. We had cucumber salad, grilled goat cheese with tomato sauce and crouton, cold almond soup with grapes and sliced almonds (very refreshing), panko-crusted pork loin, grilled sea pike fillet, and chicken paprikas. All were very good, except for the sea pike which was much too salty. The bread is delicious. The deconstructed strawberry strudel was delicious and light. Our waiter, Adam, guided in selecting Hungarian wines, and his recommendation of a Sauvignon Blanc was great, but a bit drier than we have previously experienced.

Maison Bistro knows that its customers are looking for a Hungarian menu that isn't quite the same old fare but not overly fussy. My wife and I were very pleased with the goulash soup, the pork loin, and the lamb. We also had a chance to discuss the Hungarian selections on the wine list and find choices that worked well with the food that were not commonly found in the U.S. The prices for both the food and the wine were quite reasonable. And the desserts are excellent as well. The strudel is light and airy, and the chocolate cake is delicious. But, truthfully, the best part of the visit was spending time with the staff. Our waiter (I believe he was also the owner.) spent a considerable amount of time talking to us as well as advising us on ordering the food and the wine. His menu has been translated into English, Spanish, and German. He also will communicate with you in a language other than Hungarian. To sum up, we enjoyed being there, and I believe the staff enjoyed having us.

Superb food snd service. The food and service are exceptional in every way. I find myself saying why travel all the way to the pest side when a perfect meal is here.., and also: vegetarian selections are also incredible,

Great location and very nice rooms (if you can, I recommend staying in a courtyard room). Attila was so nice, making area recommendations and helping book our excursions. He really took care of it down to the last detail. The entire staff was very polite and friendly. The bistro was nice and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this place.

We were searching for a way to have a meal away from the crowds, and we found it! Went down a side street and found this gem to escape many tour groups we when we were trying to walk down the street. It is in a small hotel. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The waiter made a point of telling us about the various foods and sauces and how they are traditionally eaten. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is in the front of the boutique hotel. We had two dinners and tried different dishes both times and both times we really enjoyed our dinners. The food is really delicious.

Wondering aroud the old part of this tip of the hill quarter of Budapest you reach this restaurant. Is located in a inner garden of the hotel with the same name. We order gulash soup that was delicious. No need of anything else. Maybe a cold beer ;) Enjoy !

We stayed for a 5 day city break and we loved this hotel. It's been renovated in a sympathetic yet contemporary way. Really friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. The location is great and it's really easy to get to anywhere in the castle area and the walk back to the river is only about 15 minutes. The rooms are really comfortable with air conditioning and the whole ambience was just lovely . This place is a real fine and superb value - well worth it and we can't recommend it enough.

This is a small jewelrybox in the Castle District of Bp. It's a cozy little place. Waiters are very kind and friendly. Foods are delicious and excellent. The Porcini cappuccino with stir-fried porcini looks like an original cappuccino served in a cup with milkfoam on top. It's a very good idea. Rosé duck breast, tarragon sour cherry ragout, pepper polenta and pork tenderloin "Landlady" style and orange infused chocolate soufflé with salty toffee were fantastic, delicious and excellent, too.
All at an affordable price.
I recommend to everyone.

My partner and I ate lunch at Maison Bistro. It was a great spot away from the really busy tourist area around Fisherman's Bastion. I am coeliac (allergy to gluten) and they were fantastic with explaining options to eat and were happy to provide GF alternatives. Food was delicious, would definitely recommend!

Our hotel recommended this for a nice dinner for two. The food was excellent and authentic upscale Hungarian. We had the raspberry soup (chilled), duck, and chicken. The orange chocolate soufflé was outstanding.

In a beautiful old building inside the walls of the Buda fortress is Maison Bistro and Hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service and the food was great.

All the staff were helpful and courteous. They Helped organise and book trips and book opera and taxis. The room Grand Suite was a good size with a comfortable bed. Only used the large whirlpool bath once as my husband I'd over 6'5" so was a tight fit.
Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.
We had one evening meal here which was perfect.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return. The ONLY thing to let it down so not given full marks is NO tea making facilities in room. To wait till 8am for a cup of tea or hot drink was the only thing to let it down.

great, authentic hungarian food - dinner here twice and both times it was excellent food. Limited menu but the quality of the food is fantastic. Nice ambience and wine list,
