Grape plantations, restaurants, inns - this is what would have been said about the area 100 years ago. Today, the green area is a much loved concert location, and there is the only art cinema in Buda.
This place was VERY GOOD, excellent service, nice friendly staff, ate here twice on trip here, will come back for sure

Order lemonade after hot day - great stuff!!! Great dishes for ok amount of money. Don't miss Gipsy steak and Soproni beer. Tips automatically added to bill (10%).

Had a much needed dinner with a toddler and baby. Staff was very helpful and polite. Had the half duck which tasted well. Chicken schnitzel for the kid - ate it all. Beer is good and pricing is perfect. Would visit again.

Wow. This place was an absolute gem! From the very friendly service (atypical of Hungarian style) to the fantastic dishes, you won’t have a frown on your face at any point while here! Being close the the palace, we imagined it would be packed. HOWEVER, we arrived to find only a few locals and had the rest to ourselves. If you want to go traditional Hungarian, the chicken paprika “stew” was phenomenal! It came with two tender chicken legs with paprika sauce and egg noodles. Unfortunately, I was too distracted by my mouth watering dish that I forgot to take a picture of it (apologies in advance). I am not normally one to review on TripAdvisor, but I couldn’t go without rating this fantastic local restaurant! It deserves a much higher ranking that what it currently has. Please, please, please visit this quaint restaurant at the foothills of the royal palace. You will NOT be disappointed!

Chose this restaurant for lunch based on TA rating while visiting the Buda side of town. Homey atmosphere with great authentic Hungarian selections. Had the bone marrow appetizer and waiter showed us how to prepare and eat it the Hungarian way. He made excellent recommendations for us, and the preparation and taste was as good as anything we had in Budapest. Absolutely fabulously satisfying lunch concluded with a shot of Pallinka.

Great hospitality, excellent food. Try the fried or roasted duck or goose liver. Paprika chicken was excellent too, charming place.

I totally recommend this place if you visit the citadel and you look for a good place to eat. I had the beef stew with kuskus and it was really good, but i recommend the vernison stew with cranberry sauce, 10/10!

This place is excellent value especially considering the location near the funicular. My wife had a delicious catfish stew with a kind of pasta. My meal - liver and apple both fried in breadcrumbs - was also good but was too much meat and carbs for my taste. Around £25 including two beers, large water and mixed salad. Catfish definitely recommended.

This Hungarian restaurant is just a five minute walk from the Buda Funicular and I had the entire place to myself when I came for lunch (came in right when they opened). Very quaint and cozy restaurant. Their chicken and gnocchi is amazing!! The chicken was moist and flavorful and the portion that they gave was very generous. My waiter was very friendly and attentive, even helping me decide which option to choose! I would definitely come back here again.

Had dinner here with a friend on our final night in Budapest. Our three meals were deliciouand the wine was very good if somewhat too much in quantity. More choices of wine by the glass would be good. Sat outside and enjoyed the evening. Staff were helpful and efficient. Would dine here again.

This little gem is well worth the trip. It is reasonably price and the meals are truly Hungarian. We had enough food without ordering a main dish and the desserts were wonderful.
