Quite dark interior, not much light. Wiping the dust from the shelves would be nice as well. Duck breast and salmon tarter were tasty, spare ribs are quite good and juicy. Forget about the dessert!
Finom volt, kedves kiszolgálás, hangulatos hely. Was delicious, nice service, good atmosphere. Recommended!

Very nice place, kind people and tasty good dishes. Reccomanded!
Vacsorazni voltunk ebben az etteremben. Hangulatos hely, bar kicsit lehetne vilagosabb es levegosebb. Ketszemelyes bordatalat ettunk, ami eleg jo volt. A felszolgalassal is elegedettek voltunk.

A small place with a nice kitchen. Drinks are medium priced, meals looked a it over priced. The staff is friendly and professional.

We found this restaurant playing our usual game of Restaurant Roulette, where we stop at a smaller restaurant on a side street that looks interesting. We were not at all disappointed as the service was leisurely, but friendly. The Cheesecake was fantastic as it had nuts mixed in the crust rather than the usual graham cracker and a very rich topping. Coffees were well made and filling. While we did not try the dinners, the selection appeared very good and other diners appeared to be enjoying their meals. Price was very reasonable.

Nothing special from the outside but an awsome dark cocktailbar interior with a glorious chrystal chandelier. No complaints about the dishes even bargain lunch. Missing a professional espresso maker. Could be popular by picky chicks and romantic couples but more of regulars watching sports.

I visited this restaurant during my business trip to Budapest. Decised to go there because of the Trip Advisor recommendations. Totally agree!
Great, cosy restaurant, great food, delicious burgers and house wine. Low prices (I was positively shocked for such a good food), nice atmosphere.
Must go! :) I will be back there once!

A great find, just before the tunnel. Very close to the Mecure Buda Hotel. Amazing goulash. Affordable food and drinks. Great service. Would recommend!

We visited Budapest for 6 days on New Years Eve and we went to Alagut 3 times. We tried almost anything on the menu but the goulash soup every time because we tought it was the best (the small one). The ribs, tenderloin and the beef burger are the most delicious main dishes. The chicken paprikas sucked altough so we don't reccomend it. The beer variety is small but great with their big tortillas nachos with two diffrent dippings. Great place, don`t wait&go there. Oh the prices are also cheap.

Food is below expected, 'sztrapacska' was given very dry without sour creme or sliced onions, trotters 'csulok' are the low quality marinated Eastern ones from the hipermarket, which are grilled a bit. Chicken leg in paprika sauce 'paprikascsirke' had a non-dependable taste, so my gf could not eat the whole. Wines are good also the house wines for 200 huf. The waitresses are lumpish however helpful. The interior is very nice and it is at a great location, however the joy could be increased with training or change the human resources both in kitchen and the bar. I expected more and every time i visit the place is worse. I will give a few more try.

We got there by taking the no 16 bus from castle hill. Get off the bus just before the bus entered the tunnel. The bar-restaurant is right in front of you <50m ahead. It has the best goulash soup I have tried in all the restaurants for my 1 week stay in Budapest. The paprika chicken was also excellent. The waitress did not know how to operate the beer machine and she suggested their home brew beer instead and it was also very good. It is very cheap as well. Recommended.

Def worth a visit. The staff were friendly and really accommodating with our dietary requirements, the lovely waitress recommended dishes, patiently answered the endless questions we asked and made a really good fresh strawberry drink.
Just walk through the tunnel across from the chain bridge and is located 10 meters on the left.

We ate here last week on a 6-day trip to Budapest - our first visit there.
As a previous reviewer has said, it's through the tunnel from the Chain Bridge and is not a pleasant walk. However, once there, it's a great place to eat and drink.
The female manager was extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. The menu was available in English too, and we had good soups, main meals and shared a bottle of decent wine for around £25 for the two of us. Service was good, and the food was freshly-prepared and extremely tasty.
One of our best meals of the trip!

Our first night in Budapest and looking for the perfect start to a vacation. We found it at Alagut Bistro. It took a bit of a hunt to find and GPS only got us close. From the Danube River at the Chain Bridge on the Buda side, you walk through the tunnel (not terribly pleasant). As you exit the other side of the tunnel you will see a Soproni (beer) sign. That's the restaurant. The actual restaurant sign is pretty difficult to see, especially at night. Food, atmosphere and service are outstanding in this intimate, very casual bar/cafe setting. Order the Hungarian Goulash. A tad spicy but the best we had in Hungry. Wish we had time to go back to this restaurant a 2nd time!

Only stopped here for drinks on the early may bank holiday, but spent a few lovely hours over a few lagers (6 pints for both of us cost less than £8?!?). Barmaid was very sweet and although we didn't eat, others did - the food looked and smelled amazing and very plentiful! Really nice place to while a lazy afternoon away :)

I was in a group of five people. The food here was excellent so much so we went back three times to eat. It was excellent value for money and the goulash amazing.
The local red wine was superb. The manageress was very polite and helpful and spoke excellent English. If you are in Budapest try this little gem, it's at the end of the road tunnel on Buda side. Jackie Flack and company

This is a relatively small, cosy but modern place, right by the famous Alagút (Tunnel) at the Buda side. There are parking places (free of charge) right by the restaurant.
The menu is not extensive, however, I can only recommend all items from it - you really have to visit this place again to try all. And here is the biggest catch: the place is cheap, but provides quality. All in all, a value for money. Try the grilled stuff......
You can check out this place at their facebook site, too.
