Chinatown Restaurant Budapest

Gyorsan kellett valami elvihetőt és akár villamoson is ehetőt vegyek, a Chinatownra esett a választásom. Kértem valami tavaszi tekercset (vagy zöldsgfasírtot?) nem volt igazán jó, a csirkeszárny jobban sikerült, de nem volt meggyőzőbb az átlagosnál. A választék a szokásos európaizált kínai. Megfelelt a célnak, épp egy sörfesztiválra igyekeztem s jó, hogy volt valami a gyomromban.

We went there the last day of our holidays and it was definitely a great experience. Very nice location, staff and excellent food! Best chinese food ever tried.

Amazing from start to finish. Great welcome from the staff. Food choice was huge. Portion size was massive. We ordered far too much. They even brought out a cake and candle for my mum’s birthday. 6 of us with wine and too many dishes was only £117. Can’t recommend enough

I passed Chinatown restaurant and proposed this to my wife, but would first read some reviews on tripadvisor, and some comments made me search elsewhere. But finally we dicided to go there, because we really did not find anything suitable, and we did not want a hungarian heavy and salted meal. But our expectations were not high. Arriviing there waiters were welcoming, The elaborate menucard had english subtitles. And we did not wait for long, before the starters arrived. The portions were huge, and the quality was very good and seemed authentique chinese. We asked the waiter, very good in english and friendly, if they had got new owners, which might explain the bad reviews. But no, same owner for 30 years. The bill was reasonable and we left satified and happy we had chosen Chinatown

Delighted the doors again are "open for business" - at this Chinese Restaurant "gem" of Budapest, Hungary. New Menu - its presentation, greater use of the English language inclusive of pictures, does make it easier to choose the Chinese cuisine delights and varieties that come from it's kitchen. Service excellent and staff attitude appreciative of your patronage. We returned as promised and will again soon - not at all disappointed but delighted AGAIN - with the food cuisine standard.

From the outside the restaurant with a small frontage does not give the inviting call to enter. Once inside the Wow factor hits you. We were given a warm welcome by the staff, very courteous, pleasant and shown to our table. We took time to view the inside of the restaurant and we have never seen such amazing Chinese decor in our lives. The ambience was superb, the high class decorations on the walls were unique and very Authentic. The restaurant was elegant and intimate.Unfortunately only 1 member of the staff spoke English and he was from Holland which to us was a disadvantage. The menu was in Hungarian so we had to have everything translated. We selected our choice of Chinese food and within mins it was served piping hot at the table. The food was delicious quite different to the food in the UK. The portion size was extravagant to say the least in each of our 4 choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The restaurant has a full Bar licence. The whole restaurant area including the toilets are very clean. If you wish Lobster or crabs they have the tanks with the fresh seafood in them at the far end of the restaurant. Make your Choice!!. The tables are well spaced and private. We were totally impressed with the service and enjoyed our evening. We have never seen a Chinese restaurant in the UK match this restaurant for its decoration, service and ambience. Would recommend this restaurant. It's not cheap but the food quality is different and excellent.

Late January winter Sunday evening dinner at 19.00 hours, courteous in there manner of welcoming, taken to dining table and treated appreciativly of our presence.Ambience of restaurant impressive and noted cleanliness of entire facility. Service was excellent and assistance recomendations without concern nor lacking in mannered respectful attitude. We reside in Budapest and have eaten Chinese crusine globally. The quality of the (4) four dishes that we chose excellent, genorous in the meats pork & chicken, and freshness of vegetables plus added sauces delightful. We certainly will return sooner than later and pleased to credit this "gem" and unique Chinese Restaurant in beautiful and majestic Budapest with 5 star rating.

The only authentic feels about this restaurant is the interior, and the infamous Chinese rude service or even cold, Literally you can hear them shouting across the dining hall most of the time. The food is decent, and totally forgettable experience, i even almost forgot the name of this restaurant, thanks to Dm next door as a reminder for helping my search at Google Maps!

Unique gem in the middle of Budapest.. Only managed to get hold of a table in the second try. Staff is mixed of Chinese / Hungarian and clients mainly Chinese people. If you are not used to the Chinese service then probably you will find how they serve rude. Food is nice even for the in laws (they are Chinese) - but I had better in other restaurants in London or Paris. We had 8 dishes, tea, water and a juice but the bill was only 23k huf. Would recommend to anyone who want to try authentic food.

Free WiFi available via an external link. Huge portions of food. Use of English here is feasible. Menu is in English and Hungarian. Chinese environment. Huge restaurant. Can seat many people. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Hectic and fast paced tempo for the staff, as they have a lot to do. Close to hostel goodmo. Cheap prices. Comfortable seating. Cash payments only but there is an ATM opposite the restaurant. Spacious building.

Despite some bad reviews I wanted to give it a try. The place was packed, but our food arrived quickly, and it wasn't bad at all. Some dishes were really good. However, not sorry for having dinner here. The stuff is speaking Hungarian and Mandarin only. So, if u have problems with Hungarian, just switch into Mandarin. It really helps, as we get good Chinese food, not some generic Chinese-ish looking stuff.

We both liked the food which was served quickly. The huge level of noise comning from the staff while they were cleaning and fixing tables for new customers where unbearable. On top of that the staff were shouting out woork orders to eachother. If you want some recreation this is not the place if you are in a hurry and want a quick meal this could be it since the food still is good.

One of the best Chinese restaurants that we've visited. The taste of the food is fabulous and the price is ok. Serving is great and the place is very wekcoming.

Had a simple bowl of tomato egg soup and a vegetarian fried noodle. The noodles were oily but overall...tasty and a good dinner. Friendly service and clean environment.
