Remek kis hely VOLT...2017.

the bistro is a one man show, almost feels like sitting in a kitchen. good quality ingredients in the daily changing menu. prices a bit over the average, but still worth a visit.

Top quality lunch menu (optionally 2 or courses) only from fresh, seasonal ingedients. Highly recommended. Friday is fish day :)

Great daily menu on a bit high price.

A must try! Specialising on Austrian food, this is what streetfood is all about! They have more seats in the basement! Daily menus. CC accepted!
lunch, coffee, pesto

Perfect for foodies.

My husband and I passed this restaurant while walking around our first night. One thing we've learned while living in Europe is the smaller the menu means it's usually better (compared to a tourist trap.) For 2800 you get a starter, first plate and dessert. The ambiance was great, the food was delicious and the beers were a great price! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the "choose 3" option on the starter menu, very small portions. Bread also came with our meal, included. It was the perfect dinner on our first night for typical Hungarian food.

Lunch yesterday after a long walk to Hero square.
Unlike other reviewers I found the food very good and the service friendly and brisk.
The food was rustic and dominated by clean, pure flavours; in particular the rose' duck was crisp skinned, moist and tasted of duck (I sliced off the layer of fat but others may enjoy this); it was served with a generous rocket salad with balsamic dressing.
A chestnut puree with cream could have done with more puree and a lot less cream.
It would also have been more user friendly to have not been locked into a 3 course meal (2 or 3 courses both cost 2800 HF). Good coffee.

The food is average, except for the soup which was very tasty but very salty and with lots of beef cuts. The main course was just red meat and eggs and again very salty. Prices are reasonable. The staff is helpful but the credit card reader did not work and I had to go out to change some money although it was my last night in Budapest.

Went there with my friends, ordered daily menu (soup, main dish without dessert). The food was tasty with normal portions, although a bit pricey for regular Budapest students. So a student discount would be nice IMO. I definitely recommend the place to try, and would certainly go there again when possible. :)

It's a cozy and nice small bistrot, in the center of Budapest but far from the crowd. The owner and chef, Klaus, propose everyday a pair of main courses, full of fantasy, inspired by the world

Healthy good food, usually vegetarian option is available. Apple ginger juice is highly recommended!

Dió is a very tiny restaurant (3 tables upstairs and 3-4 in the basement) offering healthy and imaginative lunch menus. Friday is fish day: during our visit sole with ratatouille was the main, while an intriguing poppy seed cauliflower soup was the other item. Those with a sweet tooth can opt for the 3-course lunch with a desert. Dió is a good place to buy walnut oil / walnut pesto or other delicacies. There are also wines from Burgenland, Austria’s Easternmost region. The 2-course lunch costs 1700, which is a good value considering the high quality.

Delicious food, great service! The interior downstairs was lovely. I highly recommend this small place :)

I just have to go back every week... I know that I will get something unique I never tasted before. Wonderfully creative combinations of ingredients, flavours, that are matching surprisingly well. Definitely recommended for foodies! From noon to early evening you can enjoy these fresh seasonal lunch menus, but it's also a breakfast place (nice sandwiches, egg dishes, great coffee) and a gourmet shop! Klaus sells very tasty home made pestos from wallnut, pumpkin seed, tomato, chili... and he uses them in his dishes as well. It's a small place with great atmosphere and a friendly, creative owner.

Simple, easy going place to enjoy a lunch. Have a menu or just a soup or a salad. Good quality, fresh incredients with innovative flavors. Customer service and the atmosphere is excellent, because the place is run by the owner, Austrian born Klaus. Very reasonable prices. We will come back for sure.

This is one of the places in Budapest where it feels natural to go back:
Klaus, the owner serves fresh daily menu with delicious cakes and coffee and he really pays attention that everything is not only tasty but also of carefully selected ingredients!
Try the pestos, they are excellent! 😉

Easy, tasty, clear and healthy food.
Small place next to the street, skandinavian design, or natural. The owner is in the shop, he makes the food and a coffee for you

A small delicatessen shop and eatery. It has three tables on the street level and a few more in the cellar, where one can try delicious food prepared by the Austrian owner. Fresh ingredients brought daily from the big market hall down the road, in-house baked bread, good coffee, selection of Austrian wines, home made pestos... I had lunch menu (5 Euros) that included fantastic cold pumpkin soup, aubergine moussaka, home-made dark bread with sunflower seeds and a glass of lemonade prepared with the house-made balsamic syrup. Fresh and great tastes, in the greasy and heavy Hungarian food landscape. A great experience, will go back!
