Wu Zhou Restaurant Budapest

Rendes kinézetű hely, eltér az eddig megismert kínai éttermektől, de ez nem vált kárára. A mellékkhelyiség tiszta, csak papír kéztörlő hiányzott. Az ételek (szecsuáni sertés, sült kacsa) nagyon finomak, és rendes adagok. A felszolgáló hölgy nagyon kedves.

Nagyon aranyos családi vállalkozás, mindig mosolyogva fogadnak minket. Mivel nincs sok alkalmazott, ezért általában sokat kell várni az ételekre, de ez nem is egy gyorsétterem, így ezzel számolni kell. Az ételek frissek, finomak és óriási adagokat adnak.

Kínai étterem aránylag nagy választékkal. A levesek kis csészényi adagok, de a főételek bőségesek. Udvarias kiszolgálás, de komoly nyelvi problémák. A négy levest egynek értette a hölgy. Célszerű ezért megmutatni a megrendelt ételt az étlapon és mutatni, hogy hány adagot szeretnél belőle. Az ételek minősége átlagos. Kínai üdítők, teák is vannak.

1800 Ft egy 1.5 L-es üdítőért? Az ételek ehetőek voltak, és nagyon nagyok az adagok, de az eddigi értékelések alapján legalább háromszor ilyen jót vártam, ez fokozottan igaz az alapanyagok minőségére. Az édes savanyú csirkében a csirke vagy nem csirke volt, vagy még nyers, gumis állagú. Csalódtam. Pozitívum hogy a személyzet nagyon kedves, annak ellenére hogy egy kukkot nem beszélnek magyarul.

Finom ételek és nagy adagok, és végre egy autentikus kínai étterem a környéken a sok büfé után! Nagyon ajánlom a sült kacsát és a édes savanyú sertést vagy YU-Xiang sertés csíkokat. A felszolgálás nagyszerű volt nagyon kedvesek,barátságosak és persze nagyon oda figyelnek mindenre. Nagyszerű élmény volt a gyerekekkel.

Tiszta, igényes környezet. Szuper nagy adag, finom ízek! Én a napi menüt ettem. A sült tészta is isteni! Le a kalappal! :) Mindenkinek ki kell próbálnia. Én fogok menni rendszeresen.

My first question when I entered this restaurant was how to pronounce their name? Not quite as if I had said it at my first try. From the first syllable is only a long u pronounced, the w is silent. The second syllable sounds like Joe in my ears with an upward u without emphasis in the end. A bit reminded me, of the Greek ouzo. I was curious about the meaning of the name, but Google translator wasn't really helpful. Wu means denial. No, not, have not. Zhou, on the other hand, is a tougher nut. Maybe attentiveness, district, circuit, a week, or even the Zhou dynasty None of it is very likely. No attention makes sense but isn’t a name that a restaurant would choose. We had a very attentive and polite service anyway. Let's stay with No Circuit. I've seen the menu at home, and anyone who has eaten a few times in a Chinese restaurant knows pretty much what to order. While we were waiting, we both ordered a stout, but I also asked for a jasmine tea to accompany my meal. The dead duck looked very tempting in all its forms, so my partner ordered a Peking duck, but my shredded beef was not on the menu, so I ordered Pork strips with Peking sauce instead of it. When I asked if it was possible to make it very hot, unlike the original recipe, I immediately got a positive answer, It was delicious, spicy, but it was nothing like the shredded beef. Next time I'm not going to try to replace it. Jasmine tea, on the other hand, was very delicious with my dinner. I have learned this from my Chinese friends for nearly 30 years ago, that with Japanese sushi, and Chinese food, one has to drink unflavoured tea because it really brings out the character of the dishes. It is a very pleasant place with excellent kitchen, polite, fast, attentive service, reasonable prices, but not cheap, and because it is in our proximity we will definitely visit it often.

We found this restaurant by accident on our way from Sal Kalman Ter to another nearby restaurant, and decided to try it the next night. I chose the sliced Duck and it was great! We both had brown beer and the bill was quite reasonable. The service was good but when we reserved a table they wanted us to speak English instead of Hungarian so I don't know if that will be a problem for them as younger Hungarians tend to speak English anyway.

We found Wu Zhou after our first choice of restaurant was closed and we're sure we will return! The food was extremely tasty (especially the cucumber salad!) and the staff was really nice. We even got Chinese sweets when we departed. All in all a great experience.

In Budapest for a few nights and went here. This place is amazing. The staff are so friendly and the portion sizes are enough to feed 2 people or more. I have been twice this week as it was so good!!

I haven’t found a real, nice sit down Chinese restaurant in District 2, Budapest but this one might do it for now. This restaurant is near the market (piac) and across Mammut 1. It’s on a half-basement level and might be easy to miss or ignore. But upon entry, it has a fresh design and welcoming feel. Newly opened (June/July 2019?), the owner is a seasoned chef and speaks Hungarian and Chinese. One of the young staff speaks English and the menu is written in these 3 languages. On a spur of the moment, we went for a late quick, small lunch of wonton soup and spring roll. Yum!! You can do a take out, too. I’m giving it a 4 star only because I’ve not tried a wider range from its menu. But what we had was delicious.

A Great find with Great Food. This restaurant is a hidden gem you could easily miss. It is situated in the basement level of a building in a street near Szell Kalman Ter. When we went the restaurant was not busy so the service was very quick. The waiter was very friendly but not too happy when I tried to push the front door open, onthe way in. Note to self ‘learn the words for Push/Pull, in Hungarian’. The Sichuan Prawns were excellent and the fried noodles were made to order with whatever ingredients you want. Will definitely go back when next in Budapest

Back in time, as a photojournalist i had to cover Chinese people’s life in Budapest so you can guess, yes, then i had a great opportunity to discover real good Chinese restaurants, buffets in Budapest and this restaurant reminds me one of those ones i’ve met back then at the far a hidden corners of pest.

If you want authentic chinese food, but Chinatown is too far away you should go there. Nice staff, good food, big portions, lovely athmosphere. I have gone twice and will return many times for the excellent value. If you are not a picky eater, you can trust their daily discount menu items. They are very well made but order anything from the menu it is not going to disappoint you. Unpretentious, friendly, excellent value.
